Prevention is always better than cure - be prepared to adjust your habits in due time to the natural requirements of healthy lifestyle in accordance with the climate of the Northern Temperate winter season.
Here in Utah you can always ski or snowboarding to help burn the calories in the winter.

If you have children take along the sleighs as there are lots of sleigh riding hills here in Utah. You do not have to hibernate like the old bears in the winter, get out and have a snowball fight or build a snowman.
As a kid my favorite thing was making snow angels in the fresh falling snow. What ever you decide to do to keep the winter fluff away, do it safe and remember to protect yourself against the cold.
In my family we never say someone is "Fat" we always say "Fluffy. In the winter we all tend to get a little fluffier than in the summer. We eat larger meals and less fruits and salads.
Recently we are adding Jello and fruits to our meals which help us eat less pasta, bread, biscuits and gravy.
Water a key to dieting. No matter what diet you try you must drink plenty of water. Water helps flush out toxins that are in your system. Vitamins are also very important; there are many types for all your needs. Your doctor can tell you what kind you will need to take based on your diet.

Unlike the bears which eat heavy all summer and nothing during the winter we eat all year, especially in the winter. Exercise is also something that is not done as frequently in the winter months; people living in the Northern Hemisphere tend to stay in their cosy warm homes more than they do in the warmer seasons of the year. Consequently, they move less and, at the same time, not only stick to their summer eating habits but tend to eat more than necessary, which results in putting up weight.

I know our family tends to go to bed earlier and we take that newly consumed meal to bed with us instead of walking after the meals. Remember winter fluff is great in the mountains but not on you! Enjoy the snow and winter but do not forget to exercise and eat lighter meals.
